In the Higher Secondary Examination 2014, R.R.Senji Laxme. with a total of 1172/1200 has been placed school first and scored 199/200 in Physics, 191/200 in Biology and English. She is followed by D.Manisha with a total of 1166/1200 having secured 200/200 in Commerce, Accountancy and Business Maths. S.Sathyapriya scoring 1154/1200 has secured the school third rank and scoring 197/200 in Chemistry, 199/200 in Sanskrit. N.Srivatsan has been ranked first among the students who have taken Tamil as the second language with the total of 1149/1200.

The centum scorers are 8. (1 in Commerce, 2 in Accountancy, 1 in Business Maths, 2 in General Maths and 2 in Physics.)

The toppers of XI standard Common Examination 2014 are:

• Group 1 - Science with Computer Science – C.Ramachandran.
• Group 2 - Science with Biology – R.Nithyashree.
• Group 3 - Commerce – Ankith D.Jain.

In X std Board Examination S.Suriya Narayanan. secured 1st rank with the total of 494/500 with centum in Sanskrit and 6th rank at STATE LEVEL, M.Lisha Devi. and P.Priyanka. shared 2nd Rank with the total of 490/500 scoring 99/100 in English and 100/100 in Sanskrit respectively and placed 10th rank at STATE LEVEL, 3rd Rank is shared by A.Akshaya. and R.Harish. with the total of 489/500 scoring 98/100 in Tamil and 100/100 in Mathematics respectively and placed 11th rank at STATE LEVEL. M. Lisha Devi has been ranked first among the students who have taken Tamil as the second language.

The centum scorers are 22. (6 students in Sanskrit, 5 students in Mathematics, 10 students in Science and 1 student in Social Studies.)

EXPOSURE TO STUDENTS

Prayoga is “SCIENCE BY DOING” – where a child experiences each scientific fact first hand. Experience gives the best opportunity to their learning creating interest. Students of std VIII attend the prayoga classes. Orientation given to our students through prayoga helps them to develop in their vocations in the field of science and technology.

• Bhagavat Gita classes are conducted thrice a week for the students of Std VI to VIII by Mrs.Gowri to inculcate discipline, concentration and spiritual awareness among the students.
• Under the guidance of vedic scolor, Veda classes are conducted regularly for the students to perpetuate the rich vedic culture of our land.

EXPOSURE TO TEACHERS:

• Lions Clubs International  celebrated  children’s  day function  in a grand manner  on 09.11.2012 at Museum  theatre  and  honoured  the  child prodigy and learned ability. K.Preethi XII B, Santhoshini Ravi X B and Sowmya Srinivasan XII  C  were  nominated  for  the  Best  Top  three  students in various fields and honoured with a memento, certificate and prize Mrs.V.Lakshmi Devi accompanied them.
• Radhatri Nethralaya organized Third annual Interactive Diwali workshop on ‘First aid following cracker injuries to the eye’ on 8.11.2012. Mr.Bholnath, IPS, Director General of Police and Director, Fire & Rescue Services, Tamilnadu presided over the function and our school students R.R.Senji Laxme XI and S.Sathya Priya XI attended the programme with Mrs.G.Vasantha Kumari.
• The Chennai Group of Sri Vishnu Sahasranama Mandalis organized Vishnu Sahasranama chanting to educate our future generation to have the blessing of God. They conducted the Children’s day special parayanam i.e ‘Mazhalayin Mozhiyil Madhavanin Namangal’ on 16.11.12. 30 students from our school took part in that mass chanting programme with the teachers Mr.S.Mohan, Mrs.K.Nirmal Mrs.K.Seethalakshmi, and Mrs.N.Radha.
• The popular Tamil Channel Vijay TV conducted ‘Oru Varthai, Oru Latcham’ programme for students. Our school students participated in the audition. Two teams (S.Mahalakshmi XI B, V.S.Krishnaramani XI C and B.Maniratnam X C, P.Aravindachar X B got through  the  preliminary  level  and  were  selected  for the next level.  Audition was held on 21.10.12 at Loyola Matriculation Hr. Sec. School, Kodambakkam. S.Mahalakshmi and V.S.Krishnaramani received cash prize of Rs.1000/-. The programme was telecasted in Vijay TV on 30.12.2012.
  Mrs.G.Vasantha Kumari accompanied the students.
• Chutti Vikatan, a Tamil fortnightly magazine organized a 3D film on Ramayana.  Five of our school students from STD IV and V got the chance to view the film and took part in the interactive session. Mrs.G. Sudha accompanied them.
•  The auspices of Brahmasri Mahalinga Deekshitar Memorial Krishnaswamy  Endowment, Bala Kandam (Valmiki Ramayanam) recitation competition chapter 1-10 were conducted on 14th October. The winners were adjudged by 2 eminent scholars. R. Harish IX    C, S. Suriya Narayanan IX C, J. Janaki VIII D got 1st, 2nd, 3rd prize respectively and received cash award Rs.1000, Rs.750, and Rs.500 each.
  M.S. Swetha IX C and K.Deepika VIII D received Rs 250/- each as Consolation prize. 16 students received Rs.100/- each for participation. Students participated in the competition with Mrs.K. Nirmal.
• Our school dance troupe was participated in the Republic day parade on 26.01.2013 at Beach Road, Chennai and bagged first prize. Hon'ble Governor of Tamil     Nadu Dr. Rosaiah,presented the shield to the winners in the presence of hon’ble Chief Minister Ms.J.Jayalalitha.
•    Akaash Institute conducted Model Examinations for toppers. K.Monish Ram, N.V.  Srinath, J. Srinivasan and B.S. Amirthavarshinee participated in the Examination and   selected for the next level. They were awarded with 15% discount in the course of IIT – JEE Examination Coaching.
• Students of STD VIII attend the prayoga classes under the guidance of Miss. Pavithra and Mrs.M. Mathuram. K.N.Sreelakshmi VIII A N.B.Malavika VIII B,      R.C.Vignesh Kumar VIII C, K.Ananya VIII D, were selected as the best performers for the year 2012 - 13.
• "Inspire Award" instituted by the State Government of Tamil Nadu to inculcate scientific temper in young minds, organized its function at Birla Planetarium.   E.Mahalakshmi of IX A received Rs.5000/- cash award for her Science project. Mrs.Vanitha Mohan Science teacher accompanied her. E. Mahalakshmi was selected and appeared for District level competition on 27.07.13 at Kellet School, Triplicane on    the topic ‘Puffer fish’ (Eradication of Plastics). 160 schools participated and 16 schools were selected for State level exhibition. Our school is one among the 16. She was selected for state level exhibition which was held at Madurai.
• Jawahar Higher Secondary School organized an interactive session on ‘Adolescent Age-Pleasure or Pressure’ and a workshop on Teenage Trials and Tribulations on 03.08.2013. Our students of STD XI participated with Mrs.S.Srimathy.
• Tamilnadu Science and Technology Centre organized “Meet the Medical Expert” Programme to enable the young students to meet and interact with the experts in         Medical science on 26.07.2013 at Periyar Science and Technology Centre. Dr.G. Sridevi, Medical Officer, Directorate of Public Health, Chennai delivered a lecture  on the topic ‘School Sickness’. The common sicknesses faced by school students and health problems associated with adolescent changes and psychological aspects behind imagining ailments were discussed  by the Medical Expert. Our students of STDIX attended that programme with Miss. Pavithra and Mrs. B .Vasanthi.
  The preliminary round of Interschool Chess competition was held at the GRT Mahalakshmi Vidyalaya Mat. Hr. Sec. School, West Mambalam. S.S Abarish of IV-A has been selected for district level Inter school Chess Competition. He participated in the district level classes compitition at Vidyodaya School, T. Nagar.
  19th International Day for the preservation of the ozone layer was celebrated by Ministry of Environment and Forests Government of India on the topic “A healthy atmosphere the Future we want” on 06.09.2013. Our school students participated in the painting, poster and slogan competition and received a certificate of appreciation.
• Garuda Polyflex Foods Pvt Ltd., one of top five foods and beverages company of Indonesia organized fun filled programme for the students on 21.10.2013. Various interesting and instructive activities were conducted by them to bring out creative streak in kids in a unique manner. Kids were enthralled with various surprises and activities. Prizes were awarded for the winners.
